Carbon Surfacing Veil 20

Carbon Surfacing Veil Series – Wet Processing

  • carbon veil tissue
  • carbon fiber surfacing veil
  • carbon veil cloth
  • carbon fiber surfacing veil

Brief

Carbon Surfacing Veil uses chopped carbon fibers(approx.. 1” in length) through a high-tech Wet-out process to create an even smooth tissue that bonded together in a random fiber matrix.

This non-woven construction allows a resin-rich surface that increases chemical stability and reduces the risk of micro-cracks forming in the composite surface.

CHARACTERITICS

This veil can be used to provide a smooth covering for bulk carbon composite structures or to add stiffness with minimal weight gain and thickness.

  • Carbon fiber, also known as graphite fiber, is one of the strongest and hardest reinforcing materials. If properly designed, carbon fiber advanced composites can achieve the strength and stiffness of metal parts and significantly reduce the weight.

  • Carbon fiber not only has high strength weight ratio and stiffness weight ratio but also has thermal conductivity and conductivity, a low coefficient of thermal expansion, and excellent fatigue resistance.

  • Our materials used in industry products need to enhance corrosion resistance and surface thermoplastic welding test static loss.

  • Because adhesives are soluble or insoluble in major resin systems, our materials are suitable for hand paste or winding processes and are designed to meet the most complex bending, bending, and profiles. The choice of adhesive also enhances rapid wetting out and rapid degassing.

  • Carbon fiber surface felt is widely used in industry: These include pultruded handrails, walkways, cable trays, cable ladders, etc., EMI shielding applications, composite roll surfaces, honeycomb facing paper, circuit board reinforcement, fuel cell assemblies, and film bonding substrates.

  • This veils is compatible with all epoxy and polyester, vinyl-ester resin systems.

  • This veil is suitable for use by hand layup, vacuum bagging, and resin infusion and winding manufacturing.

  • Carbon fiber veils and mats, aramid fiber veils and mats, and hybrid fiber veils and mats can be used in a range of sporting goods applications.

  • Flying poles, kayaks, skis, bicycles and boats are just some sports equipment using our products. Our materials improve aesthetics, impact resistance and wear resistance, interlaminar shear strength, etc. in various sports applications.

COMPONENTS

  • Total weight from: 20, 40, 50g/m2.

  • Width from: 50, 200, 250 to 2600mm or sub multiple cut.

FEATURES

  • This veil is a thin ply of continuous strand fibers that are looped randomly throughout the roll of the material.

  • It is held together with a light binder and is the consistency of tissue paper, it is not intended for structural use.

  • Carbon surfacing veil is ideally suited for several applications:

  • Place the veil in a mold directly behind the surface coat to minimize the print-through of the heavier reinforcing cloths applied later.

  • This Veil will permit surface sanding of finished parts without compromising the reinforcing fabric below.

  • Use it with sandwich cores. Place veil directly over the core to optimize bond-line.

  • This veil is used to produce all kinds of pipes, tanks, and sumps because of corrosion for strong acid & alkali and seawater, and also to filter corrosive gas and liquid.

  • This corrosion-resistant layer is an essential & important component of fiber-reinforced plastic pipes and tanks used in the water transportation and sewage treatment industries.

  • This Carbon surfacing veil shows ultimate corrosion resistance in the most aggressively corrosive environments, such as hot acidic conditions.

  • The surface conductivity for dissipation of static charges and reduced risk of explosion.

  • The chemical and petrochemical industries, for flue gas desulphurization and for scrubbing systems for incinerator plants.

  • Available in base weights of 20 and 40g/m2 and with either styrene soluble or styrene insoluble binders.
