Brief

Polyester surfacing veil is a non-woven veil made of 100% polyester fiber with binder hold it together, by spunlaced processing.

It is designed to give surface enhancement to composite laminates.

They are designed to add reinforcement at the surface of a laminate and provide a smooth, resin-rich, durable surface.

Industrial: pipes, containers, tanks, profiles and rods, general pultrusion, and filament winding applications.

CHARACTERITICS

Dymriton Polyester Surfacing Veils are available in two types, Needle Punch(Dry) and Spunlaced Processing. Each is manufactured through a process that is suitable for many composite processes.

  • Polyester Surfacing Veil is uniform and can be used in a variety of composite manufacturing processes.

  • It is the first layer paved right against the gel coat as the skin coat during processing.

  • It absorbs resin after infused, then the final product shows a brighter and smoother. Perfect surface and without imprint coming from Fiber, and/or stitching yarn.

  • Surfacing Veils applies a surface layer as a barrier for aesthetic enhancement and corrosion resistance of finished parts.

ADVANTAGES

  • Easy to process due to high tensile strength.

  • Form an resin/gelcoat accumulation layer.

  • Super chemical  and weather resistance.

  • Excellent smooth surface finish effect.

  • Compatible with thermoset resins.

  • Controlled resin drainage.

  • High abrasive resistance.

  • Reduce time and labor.

  • Good resin retention.

  • High elongation.

LIGHTSPOT

  • Excellent resin wet-out.

  • Reduced abrasion of molds.

  • Prevention of fibre print through.

  • Material without chemical binder.

  • Becomes translucent absorb resin.

  • Bright, smooth and without imprint final surface.

  • Higher glossiness surface by rich resin layer reflects.

  • Easy operation by paved directly against the mould or gelcoat.

FEATURES

  • Polyester surfacing veil added to the lamination process eliminates that obstacle by producing a consistent resin-rich surface.

  • It is protected under the surface of a UV gel coat or clear resin that will not scratch or peel off. The importance that is added to the finished piece to high imperfections.

  • Printout on the surface of an FRP laminate has one primary source: resin Shrinkage. Polyester surfacing veil added to a lamination schedule will dramatically reduce the resin shrinkage at the surface, giving it a smooth and consistent resin-rich surface.

  • Polyester surfacing veil creates a condition where resin is more evenly dispersed at the surface. Instead of resin-rich pockets, the resin is more evenly distributed at the surface.

  • Polyester surfacing veil reduces the wear from the rovings’. The veil protects the costly die from accelerated deterioration.
