Continuous Filament Mat (CFM)

Continuous Filament Mat (CFM) is a unique glass fiber reinforced material, mainly used in composite products such as wind turbine blades, automobiles, boats, profiles, etc. Its unique properties enable composite materials to obtain the best strength and durability in the most economical way. Continuous Filament Mat enhances the mechanical properties of the product, such as strength and stiffness, and improves the chemical resistance of the product.

Product Description

Continuous Filament Mat is composed of continuous glass fiber filaments randomly wrapped and bonded together with a small amount of binder, that is, Continuous Filament Mat can match a variety of resins, including unsaturated polyester resin, vinyl resin, epoxy resin, polyurethane resin and phenolic resin.

Applications

Continuous Filament Mat are used in many FRP processes, such as pultrusion, high pressure lamination, vacuum injection and other molding processes (such as SRIM/RTM, etc.), especially for vacuum forming and pultrusion products. Products pultruded with Continuous Filament Mat have outstanding lateral and random strength. Typical applications of Continuous Filament Mat include wind turbine blades, electrical panels, railings, window frames, boats, beams, cooling tower structural profiles and ladder handrails.

Main Features

Conductivity: It has little resistance to the flow of resin and can be easily impregnated with resin in rapid prototyping processes. It is especially suitable as a flow guide material in large parts.

Excellent Wettability: The resin can better impregnate each glass fiber monofilament and yarn.

High Tensile Strength: It is directly formed by the glass ball melt drawing process, which provides outstanding tensile strength and can prevent tearing due to tension during impregnation and molding.

Mat Roll Cutting: It can be easily cut into various widths.

Easy to Operate: It can be unrolled, cut, and transferred to molds or steel molds without losing its integrity during the molding process.

Packaging

The continuous felt is rolled on a 4-inch diameter thin paper tube, then wrapped with polyethylene film, placed on a pallet, covered with a cardboard cover and the entire pallet is wrapped with stretch film.
