Glass Fiber Continuous Mat is a new type of glass fiber non-woven reinforcement material for composite materials. It is made of continuous glass fibers randomly distributed in a loop, bonded by a small amount of adhesive through the mechanical action between the raw fibers, and is referred to as Continuous Mat. Tear resistance of products

Because the continuous felt raw fibers are continuously looped, they are isotropic and have high strength (the strength is about 1-1.5 times that of chopped strands), and are tear-resistant.

Designability of products

Through the changes in the felt layer and the tightness and the different adhesives, it can be used for different product requirements and molding processes, such as pultrusion, RTM, vacuum casting, and molding.

Main applications of Glass Fiber Continuous Mat

 

Pultrusion profiles.

Pultrusion process and pultrusion products have the advantages of closed mold production, no pollution to the environment, good dimensional stability, and no scraps. They are a kind of FRP molding method and FRP products with broad development prospects. However, pultrusion products have a major drawback, that is, the radial strength is very high, but the circumferential strength is very small, and they are easy to crack. The application of Continuous Mat as a circumferential reinforcement material can make up for its shortcomings. Therefore, Continuous Mat is an indispensable reinforcement material for pultrusion profiles.

 

 RTM process. Because Continuous Mat has high bonding strength, high fluffy porosity, moderate resin penetration rate and good erosion resistance, it is widely used in the RTM process to produce FRP doors and windows, wind turbine bases and other accessories.

Automotive interior parts.

Continuous Mat is mainly used for sun visors, rear window trims, spare tire covers and fenders. Because of its high strength and good decorative effect, it has been widely used in Mercedes, Benz, Audi, BMW, Chery, Changan Suzuki, Nanjing Iveco and other models.

 

Dry-type transformers. Dry-type transformers are mainly used in the same as chopped strand mats, but Continuous Mats are stronger than chopped strand mats. In occasions and products with high strength requirements, glass fiber Continuous Mats must be used.
